Today is a lovely day, and I have prunings to get rid of. The woodland outside my fence is growing on clinker from the side of the old mineral railway, so it devours anything organic. If I can't compost stuff, I cut it small and bury it under leaf litter. It disappears pdq.
However, the lane is now a 'nature walk', and while most folks are decent about it there are always filthy numpties who think nothing of tossing bags of dogshit into the trees, or dumping their buckie bottles, or lager cans, or lately wee plastic bags, into the understory.
Out main bin goes out once a fortnight and I usually put on a pair of disposable gloves and go out and litter pick the long stretch that runs against our fence. I've been aching though, and the weather has been bad, etc., so I hadn't done it since Christmas.
See if I find the dogshit bag flinger ? so help me I'll fling them down the burn, and right now if I find the buckie bottle blighter I'd cheerfully brain him with it.
Aye.
Rant over.
Path's cleared up for the next fortnight, and the the wild onions are sprouting along side it and everything is looking as though it's itching to grow
The birds are really pairing up, even the hoodies are up in the birch tree shifting branches around, so I reckon nesting's on their minds too.
My hands and wrists are aching though; pruning's a kind of judder through them and cumulatively it makes my joints swell up.
Sod's law, I'll live.
I think I'm going to go and make me some hot chocolate, find some of the dried mangos, and sit and not do much for a bit.

p.s. I tried to post photos but my files seem to be too large, so here's a link to a very old thread on BcUK with photos of how the path will look in a few months.
