I have been using the Direct Action Echo for the last 5 weeks or so. I generally like the organisation, I like that it isn't super tactical and the size is better suited to an everyday back for me now - I used to use the Falcon II but don't need something quite that big now I am not in the office every day.

A lot of the pockets are thin so if you use them they eat into the space in the adjacent pocket which can be a bit annoying.

I still like my now ancient Lady Berghaus bullfrog one. It's a 30L +20L available if straps are loosened.

Like this.

That one sold on eBay recently for forty quid....I'm sure I paid twenty five for mine over twenty five years ago. Mine's still in better nick than that one.
Himself liked it, but was a tad self conscious about the colour :D
It's very comfortable to wear, easy to pack and unpack, easy to tighten up to make it long and lean kind of thing.
I'm pretty sure it came in a grey and red combination too, without the Lady bit on the label. Kind of wished I'd found one for Himself.

I have three Lady Berghaus rucksacks, I think they're going to GFSon1. Maybe she can get some use out of them :)

The Tactical Sniper is nice too. Smaller version of the Falcon II.

There is a Riftcore for sale on Facebook but it is a little too far from me.

I am certain I have no need of another lightweight pack, but I have been getting strong feels for this one for a while now - nearly cracked just before Xmas. If I can hold off just a little longer, it will go out of stock, and that will be the matter settled. Arcteryx Alpha SL 23L

Pulled the Falcon II out for the first time in ages today. In the unseasonably warm weather we've been having I've missed the Y strap when I take my jacket off.

It's apparently only 3L bigger than the dust (20 vs 23L) but it seems bigger. I thought the magforce tactical sniper was a slightly smaller version but it's the same size.

The problem I'm having with the Dust is the compartments quickly canabilise each other if you start to pack them.

Current job is an MPL22 from Evergoods

They’ve just released them in xpac waterproof material too.

850g so not the lightest but light enough. Front pocket takes an XL goretex shell. Top pocket takes a glasses case and odds and sods. Side pockets take the largest of bottles.

Slightly regret flogging my urban zippy thugh

There is shop here that stocks all of the Hyperlite packs. I so wish I hadn't gone in. I was talking to a colleague at work, and it turned out he had an old 40L one. It made a very compelling argument.

Anyway, here is a showaround of a new 35L number they have going.
