I am busy combining the dining room and kitchen and trying to work out what radiators I need. I have tried 3 different online BTI calculators and they all come up with different answers. Looking at the existing radiators I also get different answers for what they output.

Does anyone know a trustworthy source of info?

Are you getting vastly different figures? One thing to consider is how the rest of the house is set up, if all the other radiators are oversize by 50% then you need to match that or you'll have one room that doesn't fully heat up before the thermostat trips out.

Edit: for radiator output I just use the Screwfix website, find one of the same size and use the figures they provide, they're all much of a muchness.

It ranges from 11670 BTU to 6796 BTU, a couple are around 9500 BTU. Some take into account the walls, windows and existing insulation but don't appear consistent.

Good call on Screwfix, I can check that out.

Calculations attached for reference.

I found this place to be good and had a great selection. The double thickness radiators chuck out a lot more heat. Also black & grey radiators emit more heat than white ones. Scientific fact. :)

See if you're doing the floor anyway ? could you not just fit underfloor heating and solve the problem ?
Clear the walls, no dusty radiators, just gentle warmth slowly rising :D

Our last house had underfloor central heating; I wish this one did.
