Yes! Just don't expect to look anything but rediculous.

I've got a long sleeve, a short sleeve and some long John's on polypropylene, and a short sleeve in merino.
The polypro works better, doesn't shrink, but does get smelly after a couple days.
I've got a couple hats too.

I've got a castelli mesh for summer cycling...super thin and mainly holes.

For high activity levels they're amazing under a thin windproof. Unzip and vent heat instantly. Zip up and you're warm again.

If it's colder you're always going to feel dry next to your skin. They wick amazingly well.

If you've not read the Andy Kirkpatrick blog I'll try and dig it up.

Thank you for that. I have looked on the Brynje site but if there are cheaper places I will happily take a link.

Colin Fletcher, (The Complete Walker, Thousand Mile Summer etc) used to tell a story of being issued with a string vest when a Commando in WW2. According to him, they were knitted in Cornwall by people experienced in net making. They acted under the official secrets act and knew that they were ma!ing a valuable contribution to the war effort but none of the knitters made any connection with what they were making and wearing apparel.

I inherited a couple from my father but found they sawed my nipples off.

you could have made bigger circles around the nipple - it’s not like it would make it look worse!

I got the wool ones. Use them most of the winter with one or another merino base layers things over it. Very, very, very comfortable.

Got no evidence, as I've never tried one, but I suspect I'd make the polyprop ones pong a bit. I think Gower Ranger mentioned getting a polyprop one recently.

I do have a couple of merino ones but not being a royal means they don't work that well with running. I know folk use them but I don't like a soggy semmit. I have long sleeved nylon tops but they lack the warmth element.

That is a good article.

Planning to run a section of the Pennine way in March and I sweat like a pervert when running. I then start to chill off quickly when I stop so I need to sort my layering system out.

I'd go mesh base layer, shelled micropile zipped top... Rab vr, thin buffalo, or maybe just a windproof if it's warmer.

Really works. Easy to dump heat almost instantly.
AK has a few articles in the clothing section that cover it.

Have read good things about the Rab and often pondered a Buffalo, need to find a stockist in Aberdeen to try one.

You could give BAM a try, bamboo viscose sports wear. Warm and comfortable, but as I can't run anymore I don't how it handles that kind of sweating.

Is there much benefit of the byrnje over any other cheap plastic based mesh top?
