The trouble with Westminster "Weapon" Laws is that they are never properly thought through and always have unintended loopholes that allow for "interpretation" by the Justice system.

A bit like the Indeterminate Sentence Law that keeps poor bastards banged up for years longer than the original sentence.

I know it's only a consultation at the moment; a political ruse, like teaching more people to do hard sums. But it'll be a shame if the Skrama falls foul

Hi Noddy. I am afraid that here in the land of the brave, a consultation is a forgone consultation. Their minds are already made up.

This survey is also on Edge Matters and has gone down about as well there as it has here. I have done my duty and advised the government to use the laws already in place, not create new ones.

How will "from the top of the blade to the point" be interpreted, I wonder?
When you think about previous discussions about what “cutting edge” “folding” and “automatically” mean, this will give forum goers years of entertainment deciding what “blunt” and “reference to the tangent of the curve” mean :D

And these.
Power-Saw-Blades-01
I remember a few years back at work, there was an altercation between two guys in the engineering shop.
It seems to have calmed down until one of them emerged with a half of a hacksaw blade with the first 3" ground to a razor sharp double edge with a gaffer tape grip.
Imagine that in your gut.
He proceeded to threaten the chap he had argued with.
I think he was sacked!!

Just in the loft using my Hultafors insulation knife, is it about to be subject to some daft law?
Not if it's in your loft, or anywhere inside your property. Mind you, if they mangle this law on its way through parliament like most others, you'll get banged up for 20 years.
