the beautiful south. but NOT on the island
I purchased one of these a few months ago as a beater at work.
It is made for Hennies by realsteel who actually make some reasonable knives and is based on the mercator type knives of our youth with a folded single piece of steel with a spring concealed within.
I was sceptical about chinese steels, it angular edges and pocket clip but have found myself using it a lot more than I bargained for.
It slides in and out of a backpocket as easily as a spyderco and is un noticable until needed. It sharpens fairly easily and the 8Cr 14Mov steel appears to be similar th 12c27 as far as sharpening is concerned. As it only cost £15 I have no hesitation on recommending this to you folk who I know are regular users of edged tools. I have cut onduline, brambles and scraped all sorts of crap from my landy and it still cleans and sharpens very nicely. All in all abit of a bargain I didn't know I needed.

I have 2 of those, the Windmill and the Atlantic. The spring broke on the blade side of the Windmill so (I like the blade) I transfered the blade from that over to the Atlantic, You're right, they are nice tools, shame one of mine broke though. Wasn't worth trying to get a replacement for it.

They’re a nice price. I know you like the sheepsfoot but the Atlantic and Vale are more appealing to me.

I’ve got one of the Boker Plus Atlas knives, it’s quite similar and Higoesque, just disappears in a pocket or clips inside my wallet.
