Update - the orange Ganzo still hasn't arrived back at Heinnie's from whichever alternate dimension UPS sent it to.
With some further consideration, the 720 might be too much of a lump in the pocket at 200g.
Spoke to Marie this morning, and in a moment of weakness amended the order to one with a butterfly on it...
And no, not a mini-Grip or a Bugout :shame:

JFC! All this talk about prices going up, so I decided to take a look. $175 for a vanilla Mini-Grip!!!!

Remember in ye olden BB days the regular refrain was don't buy knives if you are hoping to make a profit on investment?

I never buy knives as an investment - they are for using, not trading on. Which is why I seldom sell knives on, and don't subscribe to the Buy Both idea, because I will rarely get around to moving on the one I like less.
That said, I am, with great difficulty, grasping the concept of "too many guitars", and have moved a couple on, with another couple hopefully going in the next month.

The Osborne never did it for me, I don't know why as I can't fault it but it never gelled? Off the back of this thread I've put a 530 in my pocket, now that's a beautiful little knife.

I still use my first Spyderco, a Calypso. Mainly for saucisson. I am not very good at selling either
I’m too good at selling (or losing) but it’s good for being able to reminisce!!

My first Spydie was a part serrated native with steel handle. I was less educated then and wasn’t too impressed. I hadn’t realised I had lost it for a long time then it was found in a sofa. Distance had made the heart fonder for sure but I did eventually sell it.

Another I do occasionally think on is the Spyderco meerkat. What a cool little knife and at one point there were loads around but I haven’t seen one mentioned in years!

I never used mine really, but it's the knife that led me to BB and I think the smaller is a nice size.

I never did get the Osborne, but have always been fascinated by it ... partly because of the kinds of people who have praised it to the heavens, whilst I remain bewildered by it.

It's $275 now, so I guess I'll never find out what it's all about

The Osborne is definitely a Marmite knife isn’t it? I never really got it either. I can appreciate the sweeping style, but never really liked the green aluminium handles. Now the Mini Osbourne, in this black bladed guise, is more than acceptable.

It's like the 710, I never got on with it despite my best efforts; a while back Neil was selling one for buttons but I didn't bite as I knew I wouldn't use it.

Cracking knife but ultimately it was just too fat in the pocket?

A Spyderco Military with an axis lock, that's the perfect machine in my book.

That would be perfect wouldn’t it.

The liner lock on such a long knife does let it down a bit, but it’s easily forgiven.

The Osborne has 2 major issues - the blade is ground way too thickly and the handle puts you walking distance from the cutting edge.

Which is why I have one sat basically unused, I still like them though.

They have always been disproportionately expensive too.

Looks like a POS even if you don’t take a account of the price.
