Been a fan of barbecue/fire bowls for ages, we always replace our little tripod pot belly job about every 3 years with another. Last we bought was about £25 posted, but they’re daft money now for the crap they are. I found this on Amazon at £35.

It’s good, steel is reasonably thick, all packs into the ash catcher tray which then goes in a (fairly crap) nylon zip bag. Saves getting soot and ash everywhere. No height adjustment for the grill, but it’s ok if you’re fairly nimble with the turning.

Fine vista. You back in the van on your Summer travels again, Rich? Nice table ... can't be beat for a G&T in a lowslung chair and brimmed hat.

Of slippery things, I just got a new iPhone. Its super frictionless screen means that somehow, at some point it will fall off whatever it is on. I better get a move on with a case for it.

Just weekending it mate, at a local field. The same farm we had the van parked at most of last year. The farm is being taken back by Goodwood after 3 generations of the same family farming it, so this vista will soon be private to us. Making the most of it while we can.

Thats what happens when 30% of the land is owned by 1% of the population.

Sensible. Anything that keeps the fire off the ground round here at the moment. The farmer comes up every evening with logs for sale and I’m seeing a few people stamping out grass fires around the edges of their fires where the grass has dried out and a log has rolled. A good breeze and it would whip across the field.

Looks a decent wee thing.

I'm still getting good use out of the tumble dryer drum in the garden, we burnt some of the cherry I've been seasoning since January, braw heat off it.
Shame to burn it like that. It gives a nice flavour when you use it for smoking…

Oh that’s much better than I thought. It looked smaller in the first lot of pics.

I thought i recognised the field, I thought they’d have had him out by now.
Nearly. All signed up and agreed for the end of the month, but the camping is only til the end of next w/e as Steve is off to a big show with the rams the one after. Then it’ll be gated off down by the barns I suspect. End of an era. 😢
