Ash Regan isn't in the SNP any more. Kate has some good ideas but her Free Church beliefs will cause issues. The problem with having Nicola leading for so long is nobody else really shone so there are a lot of unknowns.
it is very well organized, that.I think this article today by Robert Kagan in the Washington Post gives an interesting perspective that in more ways than I’m comfortable with applies to many western democracies.
I started watching some videos on the Lewis Revival in 1949 the other day. I think I better find out some more. The ones I saw seem, well, you know, interesting. I didn't know it even happened, let alone the way it did.Free Church beliefs will cause issues.
She would fit in perfectly .................. in Catholic Ireland or Victorian EnglandI agree she's up front about everything.
She's against gay marriage, abortion, trans rights and while I don't think she would openly try to change existing laws, her work is bound to be influenced by her views. Her religion is not a progressive one and her belief in it is strong.
Are you sure about Catholic Ireland? The wee frees surely think that Catholics are going to Hell? She would fit in perfectly .................. in Catholic Ireland or Victorian England

They also have preists between children and the age of consent. They do indeed. RC's worship graven idols, they have priests between man and god, they don't respect the sabbath.....the list goes on.
This is what happens when folk with strong religious views get in positions of power.I think she fits in fine in modern Scotland. I say that because an inclusive society accepts a wide range of opinions. KF is religious, openly states her opinions.
Trans rights are contentious, mostly because to have them women's rights appear to be denigrated and ignored.....then we have the Isla Graham debacle.....not all Scots are happy to accept 'Trans rights', just as not all Scots are happy to accept the 'hate speech' laws.
Personally I think both those 'laws' are untenable and ungovernable.
We'll see, but as a good atheist, I have no issues with Kate Forbes.
