Ash Regan isn't in the SNP any more. Kate has some good ideas but her Free Church beliefs will cause issues. The problem with having Nicola leading for so long is nobody else really shone so there are a lot of unknowns.

I started watching some videos on the Lewis Revival in 1949 the other day. I think I better find out some more. The ones I saw seem, well, you know, interesting. I didn't know it even happened, let alone the way it did.

I agree she's up front about everything.
She's against gay marriage, abortion, trans rights and while I don't think she would openly try to change existing laws, her work is bound to be influenced by her views. Her religion is not a progressive one and her belief in it is strong.

She would fit in perfectly .................. in Catholic Ireland or Victorian England

I think she fits in fine in modern Scotland. I say that because an inclusive society accepts a wide range of opinions. KF is religious, openly states her opinions.

Trans rights are contentious, mostly because to have them women's rights appear to be denigrated and ignored.....then we have the Isla Graham debacle.....not all Scots are happy to accept 'Trans rights', just as not all Scots are happy to accept the 'hate speech' laws.

Personally I think both those 'laws' are untenable and ungovernable.

We'll see, but as a good atheist, I have no issues with Kate Forbes.

This is what happens when folk with strong religious views get in positions of power.

Can't really see the Wee Frees taking over though.....and Scotland still has it's 400+ year old edict that every child has a right to an education....that was boys and girls.

The original schools were church based and the Minister was often the Dominie

Personally I'm all for the French model, and if you want to educate your child in your religion, do it at the weekend and during the school breaks.
