There was a gap on the shelf in the shop where the Thatcher's was meant to be or that would likely have been mine too, but the HW had the added bonus of being in the chiller cabinet too.Mine was thatchers vintage cider again. Bottle is in the recycling bin.
We've got a cottage cider industry going on here and a lovely little cider barn in Godshill where my daughter lives. Some really tasty, toxic and bowel scouring stuff. Not been in there for a little while. Hmmmmm.Had a Google for beer festival nearby, can't find much. There used to be loads. Not much of a drinker but suppose you can take empty plastic bottles and put a half pint of cider in one if there's something you fancy.
There used to be a cider festival in Hebden Bridge, went one year, they stopped having it after that. True story.
Must be the nicest name ever for a cider.Sorry, but it's just Merrydown here.
It's rather nice

WTF is the black'?
I had a perry day at the hants bowman on sunday. Perryletic and bee sting. 7.5 and 6.8 abv . 2 pints of each followed by 5 pints of water after the stumble home.
I've heard of it but I've never had one, sounds like one of those daft drinks for children that don't like alcohol.
... for children that don't like alcohol.
Used to be the drink of choice of teenage girls to get rat-arsed quickly. Much better than rum and coke.
The sweetness of the Ribena boosts the alcohol into your system.
Sometimes mixed with Guiness too.
Ahh, that explains it. Some ciders are as dry as sloes, It must make it into a drinkable solution. Dark fruits is similar to ribenaThese days it’s sold as Strongbow Dark Fruits, but back in the day a good splash of sweet Ribena into otherwise teeth peeling scrumpy was the way forward.
