Any wood botherers here? I need some small hardwood items making. Basically a small holder for a few tiny glass bottles to stop them being knocked over. I can supply drawings. :)

If you're talking "bit of wood with correctly sized holes drilled in it" I could do it. If you want fancy wood and a fine finish I wouldn't be able to find the time 😞

Show us your drawing?

This is what I am after.

Needs to be hardwood so it has some weight to it.
Rounded ends arent a requirement. Beveled ends/edges would work just as well.
Could be be deeper and wider as well depending on wood dimensions.

Its for holding small bottles of various strengths of loctite. The small bottles are prone to falling (getting knocked) over which isnt good with £300K of electronics sat there.

I could knock them up out of 18mm oak parquet flooring, I've loads left. Are you sure about 12mm depth with a 5mm bore? Seems a bit shallow?

Indeed, if it’s to stop them being knocked over I would make it wider too, to increase stability and avoid spilling 4 instead of just one.

It was 12mm deep with an 8mm bore. But if you have 18mm, then going 12mm deep would work well.
Originally I wanted ally, but the machine shop were having a laugh with their pricing.

Less than fifteen minutes' work, I'll hit them with the sander and round the corners when Saff is taking her nap 😅

I got a cheap set of Forstners a while back, being able to drill say a 19mm or 22mm hole has been actually really handy. A decade ago a bit set like that would have been mad expensive.
