Which branch did the aquatics supposedly come down? Not a lot of water on the African Savanah. Can't remember the finer detail of proposal, it was a long time ago.

It was scoffed at when I was at Uni in the 80s. Mainly on the basis that it was conveniently unprovable because all the traits that would have established it were soft tissues that left no fossils. But then I was regularly attending Yves Coppens* lessons at the College de France (as an auditeur libre, not as one of his students)

A C. Englebrecht ended up on the thread on t'other side. Pushing the argument and sort of nippily. I thought that the name looked awfully familiar, it's an unfamiliar one here, so I googled and sure enough there he is on Quora and the like, with his argument being roundly disputed.
Then he became very insulting, so he's banned, but I wondered, if he were trolling the net looking for the topic and injecting his opinion onto any thread he could find, could he be lured ?
So, reckoning that if he did, any eejit that called me a wigger, would be fair game to play with here
and it's Christmas, we might as well have some fun
