What you got?

The ubiquitous Hilux Surf (Taliban Taxi) tough as nails and luxuriating in a rare moment of cleanliness. :D:D

Blimey! Last time I saw it that clean was when I picked it up from the importer in 2005...
How long did that take?

To be fair it wasn't gleaming but it was more than half presentable at the Lakes. And a fine transport it was, too.

We have Alan, our Fiat Ducato 2.3lr. Equipped with small double bed, sink/hob, cassette toilet/shower cubicle, spinny front seats, gas/electric boiler, tv, fridge, Honda gennie, Chinese diesel heater, led lighting throughout, and nice reclaimed wood table to replace the chipboard one. As you know, it’s capable of supporting fairly long stays.

It is. Funnily enough, the day before we left Singleton I received my Paramo Halcon from a place called Gorge Outfitters. I chatted on the phone to the bloke for ages about it, great guy. I never really thought to look where the shop was, and literally parked in a carpark opposite and saw the shop.

So I went in a said, “Recognise this?”, and he said “It’s a Halcon, good coat, I sold one a couple of days ago.” I said, “This is it, we chatted for about half an hour on the phone.”

We normally take the X-Trail with us, it can hold a fair whack of kit but with the need to hold two child seats and a dog it's looking more like us taking two cars in future.

That campsite looks like it might have a pint or two of Flower Pots beer just over yonder? 🍺

As useful as a trailer can be, it's just another thing to buy and store. Even a roofbox seems like more hassle than it's worth, given how rarely these things happen. That and I don't think I'd trust her with a towbar sticking out the back

Er, yes actually, well spotted! Suddenly my ability to recognise the world famous Cheddar Gorge seems less impressive :ROFLMAO:

We used to get a large frame tent, all camping parifinalia and a small one in a car seat into a fiat tipo. It was a bit cramped, and the tent had to be strapped onto the roof bars, but we did it comfortably with a bit of planning and playing advanced tetris!
The order of packing was written down and strictly implemented, no faffing about trying to remember where stuff went and easily found if needed, but nothing needed on a journey was to be found under something else needing a roadside unpack, and unaccessable.

Roofbox is an easy answer and an essential for most of our family trips as we have so much kit.

Honestly she'd just fill that as well. Yesterday she was seriously suggesting we get an inflatable sofa to take camping with us

Inflatable sofa? Next she'll want a TV and a eccoflow and solar pannel to run it, and then it will be an electric kettle, it will never end!
Put foot down on this sort of thing, or you will need a susuki carry! 😀
