The most noticable thing was the biting wind from the NE. Feels like was -3. I had added a hat and gloves today, although a baseball cap rather than a beanie, which was a mistake. The hood went up though to keep the wind off my neck. Sealkskinz gloves were taking the chill off the fingers. A local joined me at the bus shelter, in some pain, his hands unprotected. The locals love the rumour that they are a hardy bunch spread about. This one didn't have the sense to dive them into his pockets or under his armpits. The sun was bright, but seemed to generate no warmth.

You should see the weather forecast we have for tomorrow onwards !:eek:

Yellow warnings for rain and floods, and a wee bit further north for six inches of snow.

I knew the blasted begonias were too damned early. I'm glad I didn't pot them out.

Just seen it M. We will see what transpires!

Yesterdays rain continued all night, stopped about 0700. Odd spots on and off but there is some brightness now.
Not particularly cold, around 8°. Had some small jobs to do for someone today, nothing arduous, inside, bloody heating on full belt! Of course I’m dressed for the outdoors, even with the fleece off, I came out sweating.

It's been nice here, but, that wind is cold. Not looking forward to more rain, tbh. My garden is a soggy mess as it is.
Sod's law. We'll live, just I was looking forward to some dry.

A friend of mine is moving back to Atlanta this weekend, he's been in Toronto for a year or so. He is looking forward to going somewhere that gets much less rain. The two winters he has been here for have been dark and wet, very different from the bright cold winters I associate with this part of the world.

The weather gods are softening us up for something; the last few days have seen a few mm of rain overnight with summerlike conditions during the day, mainly in the afternoons mind.

Aye, just. Indeed.

I mind the field that was here before our houses were built. We used to pass it on the walk to my Granny's over the river. It was one of those fields that was often just a laighland really. There was a block of four swings, but most of the time the kids couldn't get to them because they were surrounded in water. We could rarely stop for a play because of that.

Supposedly they fixed the drainage when they built the houses.

I tell you this though, I'm glad thon burn is a good five metres down from the level of our garden :)
