A comment in the Guardian:
" Where people are getting confused is when Sunak said he would govern with professionalism, accountability and integrity he failed to mention that these were the ironic nicknames he'd given to Braverman, Rabb and Zahawi.

Accountability is on his way out, integrity has gone and professionalism is in hiding."

I can't even hear the doorbell if the living room or kitchen door is shut. I can't hear the phone ring either.
Finding someone breaking into my home would literally incite me to violence.
I am intolerant of bullies, and a home invasion is pretty close to the ultimate bullying.

Hell mend the blighter. He'll no' do it again. I can see the headlines now, "burglar brained with a girdle" :ROFLMAO:
"Break in Bill booked",
You can do a lot of damage with a high heel or a brolly too.

They had already buggered off, but they had at least called the polis and an ambulance. So you wouldn't have got the chance to get right intae them, Mary.:)

Many years ago, I lived in a bedsit in torbay, there was a chap who would not take I'm not interested for an answer.
One night, he kept knocking on my window, I ignored him. It went on for some while, and I got a bit concerned, when he started trying to get through my top window. I crept out of bed, grabbed my frying pan and waited off to one side of the window. When he was almost through, I wacked him as hard as I could on the head with the heavy pan. He tumbled through, and I stood there with the pan raised ready for another wack should he not have got the message. He said, what did you do that for? Cheeky blighter! He thought I was out, and was intending to wait for me inside my bedsit.
I was in real high dudgeon and grabbed him by his hair and dragged the rather stunned sod out of the door and set him on his way with a few more bashes with the pan for good luck. He never returned, and I never saw him again.
He used to work on the local bus I often used, and I later learned he'd packed in his job next day and disappeared from town. Nobody knew why....:D
Moral,.... don't mess with Woody Girl when she says no with a frying pan in her hand!!!!!!!!!

Not that many years ago I used to see plenty of ladybirds, now it's very rare and a cause for remark and excitement.
Ladybirds have been decimated by feeding on aphids that have been poisoned by pesticides.
The moral is, use ladybirds for pest control, not pesticides!
It's staring us in the face, but you can't make as much money out of ladybirds as you can pesticides.:cautious:

We had plagues of them after the hot spell last summer, literally hundreds on and in the van. They drove the dog crazy buzzing round clumsily.

Gary Glitter out of prison today. Can't believe I used to have his picture on my bedroom wall when I was a kid. Do you wanna be in my gang?

Only served half his sentence of 16 yrs.
What was the point of giving him 16 yrs then letting him out halfway through.? Makes a mockery of justice.

Not eligible for parole until 2/3s of a sentence has been served now but his conviction predates the change.

Ive probably shared this before but a friend of mine went to see a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as a child with Glitter filling the role of the child catcher.

Pratt! How long before that is shown to be unsafe? Sounds like a microwave effect. Rip all the plaster off first? Jesus wept. No real fire? Bloody awful.

I haven't had a real fire in my home in 44 years.
Last house was all electric, this one has gas central heating.

Do I miss a real fire ? yes, I do.
However, in no way do I miss the mess, the constant need to tend and clean the fire and fireplace. The soot, the dust, the filthy air.

So, given that my hallways are embuggered with radiators at present, as are every room, and to simply make the radiators a layer under the wallpaper instead is now truly a possibility, then yes, I'm interested :)
