My old North Face kit has been very good, I’m not even going to calculate how old some of it is!
My experiences over the last few years means I won’t even bother looking at their kit, utter crap in my opinion.
Just one example, the main zip failed on a GTX jacket, can’t remember the model, on the 4th time of wearing! A few frustrating interactions with customer service and they didn’t want to know, all sorts of waffle & corporate bull from one, another actually whispered that they now manufacture for quantity not quality! I got the feeling she was fairly disillusioned by the company.
No more beans from me!

The North Face used to have a factory shop down in Port Glasgow. Brilliant, totally brilliant sale events twice a year. I used to regularly spend two or three hundred pounds and came home with six or seven black binbags full of excellent kit.
Now it's carp, yet the stuff I bought then is still sound, still in use. Some just wore done beyond repair, but I worked hard in it, the boys climbed, etc., in it. It doesn't owe me a ha'penny.
Son2 bought a new jacket and fleece last year and it's been one niggling snag after another. The quality and design just isn't there anymore :sigh:

They became "fashionable" and that led to bigger sales and less interest in quality.
