Is that not a good idea though ? for folks who like me find the stairs to be a misery at times ?

Just now I'm fine and I'm running up and down them again; fortnight ago though and Himself was seriously trying to work out how to fit another banister on the wall side for me.

I think it's a great idea if you can find a (small) space to fit it. The difficulty is to have the equivalent space available upstairs of course, but I heard that it was not overly expensive cost-wise and more elegant (as in not making you feel like a disabled) than those seats up and down the stairs.

We have a hall cupboard that sits directly below a linen cupboard upstairs. That opens out onto the long upstairs hall landing.

I have thought about this :)

Just both cupboards are packed to the gunnels.

It's still a more elegant and practical solution than something like a Stana though.
