Went for a trundle today and spent some time just looking.
I spied some celandine in flower, also a patch of primroses, mostly in bud, but a couple were in bloom.
Lords and ladies are now several inches high, which means a keen eye might just spot a few wild garlic poking noses out of the soil nearby, sure enough, I counted five plants about an inch high.
Sitting by the river, rabbits were playfull in broad daylight on the opposite bank, cock pheasants were half heartedly squaring up, and I watched a grey tree rat drinking from the river.
In the distance, a small tree has a light green fuzzy halo, which says buds are breaking. Not sure what it was, as it was too far away.
Crows are building nests already, and two more have appeared in the tree visible from my kitchen window in the past day or two, and I can hear then trying to scrape the moss from my roof to line the nests in the mornings.
I was watching them a week ago , and though flying in a flock, you could see the pairings.
Spring is definitely just around the corner.

Just tried and failed to post two pics from today, winter aconite and Lords and ladies leaves. No spikes yet. Snowdrops in full bloom, but not in our garden yet.

It's the same here :)
Snowdrops are not open/open but they're white and up, the ransoms are sticking up and the wild onions are really up. The bluebells leaf clumps are about four inches high. The birds have been pairing off in tandem flight for a few weeks now. The pigeons brought their new fledges to the bird feeder yesterday; they look beautiful, all shiny and new and healthy and the parents look so chuffed.
It's cold tonight again though so while Winter's not quite done with us, Spring is definitely coming on :)

Going to miss seeing the skunk cabbage come up this year. Just getting the buds showing in the tips of the branches of the trees here. Not green yet, but there's hope. Lovely morning

Looks like this as well, and in that same, wet lake-edge environment. I wouldn't be surprised if this pic was taken in Stanley Park, actually. Very, very verdant in the Spring light. The picture is quite accurate in that regard. It seems to quite burst out of the ground and has been pretty invasive over the past five years .... but that might be to do with the way the Parks department have been playing around with the lake recently.

Never known it to smell.

Oh beautiful :)

You're further ahead than we are. My bluebells are just forming flower spikes just now.
