I keep picking it up and putting it down again. It's hard work to read.Disappointed. Far too much waffle.
Try 1984 again…Rereading "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. Seems just as, or even more, relevant today. If only his message had got through when it was first published.
Just finished "Sixteen ways to defend a walled city " apparently not an instruction manual but an entertaining novel. Part way through the second in the trilogy "How to rule an empire and get away with it"
Yes, second book was not as good. Had to take a break and read something else but just starting book 3 nowOh, I listened to that on my travels on Audible, very funny and a good story. Got the second in the series now but not so keen on it so far.
Bernard Cornwell
Let me know what you think of it.Because it’s over £250 would be my primary reason not to recommend it
Reading ‘Existence’ by David Brin. AI, Fermi Paradox etc. Not my usual but quite good, very well imagined.
Read the books years ago - cornwells take on an early pagan King Arthur. Not seen the series available here yet. There's a new series on Crave based on a bunch of Cornwell novels - haven't taken a peek yet. Winter King.
I hardly used my Gen 1 iPad Pro. I gave it away to my son. I found it a bit heavy and went with the iPad mini, which I reckon is a cool tool size and weight-wise.Our eldest just bought himself a gert big iPad Pro thing. The things it can do! I am sorely tempted.
I find the mini just right for non sitting at desk/table use.I hardly used my Gen 1 iPad Pro. I gave it away to my son. I found it a bit heavy and went with the iPad mini, which I reckon is a cool tool size and weight-wise.
I will. It’s taking a long time to read, but it’s easier now I’ve got the characters and their threads sorted. It felt a bit random to begin with, but now seems to have developed a solid storyline with chapters doing what they’re supposed to do, continue a characters part in the tale.Let me know what you think of it.
I'm into a run of Vietnam books (again) and fancy some fiction.
