I’ve been waiting for a BOGOF on these for ages. Code sent to me is ZDLUNAR, hoping it’s not personalised to me as they’re nice straps without the double layer beneath like most NATO style.

the beautiful south. but NOT on the island
I brought a 'Nato' strap from china for about £3. Today I had an email from aliexpress telling me I had brought an Illegal item as it had infringed someones intellectual property and I need to return it for a refund.
Not sure what the chinese for fuck off is.

I got the email and quite liked the Pluto strap, but I don't think I can be bothered messing about with spring bars?

Could go down a google rabbit hole with that one. There is an American guy who makes his money by getting IP and then guarding it. One of the things he protects is 'NATO'.

See here - https://timeandtidewatches.com/trad... bandied about, see their trademark right here.

Surprised Aliexpress give a damn though.

I mean in the sense that I can swap between NATOs without removing the spring bars, if I'm reading it right I'd need to pop them in and out to fit those straps?

Ah right, so the bit that looks stitched is just stitched to some velcro and you wrap it around the existing spring-bar?

Watching the video, the strap fastens with velcro, but looks like you have to fit the two bits in the usual way by removing the bars.
Yep. Quick fit straps are the way forward for me, the Steeldive bulges underneath and wobbles about on a NATO with the two layers of strap beneath. In fact I’m right off NATOs, the end being folded back down through the keepers, they’re just bulky.

Hahaha 😅

Hard to explain isn't it? I love fucking about with a Trangia when I'm camping but at home when I make coffee I don't even stir it with a spoon.

Spring bars are footery wee gits.
