It came to me. The one I was thinking of was the Subcom. I got within a gnat's of buying a Ti/VG10 one some years ago and then didn't follow up.

I had one in every flavour I think, Subclaw, Wharcom, Subcom, and a Ti one. They were good little knives. The Subclaw was a superb box cutter.

I resisted the subcom stuff. I think I should have one or two though.

The spydernox are cool. I’ve seen someone do a Barlow style homemade blade for a sak recently.

I still have a Boker Warcom, great boxcutter and i used it work for a while but the blade would partially open in my pocket - tip up as you push your hand in to get something else. Swapped it for a Dragonfly and a few others but ended up with a Delica gor day to day carry.

There are some Spydernox knives using blades from the Bug, cricket or grasshopper range that look good. I'd quite like a nice alox sak with a Roadie blade.

The Subcom is still gettable on the Bay and from some dealers. The 2.0 has a D2 blade.

I can see the appeal, but rendering a Dragonfly useless to add the blade to a Victorinox is crazy. Those Dragonflys have such an appeal, snappy, tough little brutes. I couldn’t do it.

The spyder bug ones are neat too and much less expensive.

A dragonfly-alike would be a preferable donor, you have to grind down the bump stop etc anyway.
