Thanks, in Kinlochbervie now and it is freezing. One last day and 16 miles to do. I start at 0845 so I get a long lie.

Today was tough with a rough course and shit weather.

G

Well done :) last day and you're still up for it :)

Will you be able to at least sleep warmly tonight ? it's hard going on a cold night's poor sleep and then having to work hard.

Best of luck that tomorrow's a decent day.

You may well joke.....

I went and bagged through trug point at Cape Wrath once I had finished.

Back at camp now, another brilliant day over and done with, feel like I could go on.

I will need to sort out a breakdown of the days.

Thank you for all the support and sarcasm.

Finally sorted out the stats from the event.

Day 1 Ft William to Glenfinnan
21 miles in 05:28, 601m, slow and steady, sunny day and good fun.

Day 2 Glenfinnan to Kinloch Hourn
37 miles in 11:01, 2072m, nice day but hard going along the lochside at the end. There was a fair bit of bog elsewhere on the course.

Day 3 Kinloch Hourn to Achnashalloch
21.8 miles in 07:05, 1603m, missed the cut-off just after the falls of Glomach. The run was fine enough but lacking in energy.

Day 4 Achnashalloch to Kinlochewe
22.3 miles in 07:09, 1593m, managed the full day, sunny and good fun. Kinlochewe campsite was full of midgies.

Day 5 Kinlochewe to Inverbroom
26.4 miles in 07:45, 1372m, another full day, decent weather and a simple run. Last section downhill was a nightmare on my feet though.

Day 6 Inverbroom to Inchnadamph
19.8 miles in 05:06, 794m, did a half day here and went from Oykel Bridge to Inchnadamph. Picked to see Conival but the mist put paid to that.

Day 7 Inchnadamph to Kinlochbervie
16.4 miles in 05:20, 1342m, stopped at checkpoint 1. This section was shit, horizontal rain, wind, mist and technical terrain.

Day 8 Kinlochbervie to Cape Wrath
15.6 miles in 04:03, 863m, completed the full day. This was a good run with some decent scenery, although Sandwood beach was affa short. Managed to bag the trig point up there as well.

Total mileage was 183.3 miles
Total climbing was 10,240m
Total steps taken 393,908

It was a really good event, food was ace and it did feel like a massive family event. Will I do it again? Maybe but not next year.

Fucking hell, a steam train. You havent had your levelling up money yet then?
That’s the Harry Potter steam train, The Jacobite, it already has level 10 wizardry.

What a run! I looked at the pic of the terrain, and obviously had a pretty good idea of the landscape you were running on, but 183 miles of that must have been gruelling at times. Good work fella 👍
