Very true, but unless something "unofficial" like this idea gets going we'll never get PR. If local "primaries" get traction we'll get more diversity of MP and the FFP nationally will not favour the two big parties who might then be forced into PR.I've said it for years; first past the post leaves too many disenfranchised.
Proportional representation has it's flaws, but at least every vote counts and gets a representative.
Well you say that but we did have a referendum on the matter, and overwhelmingly chose to maintain the status quo.

At least they provided a very capable leader to replace Mhairi Black in Westminster.Last general election 81% of the Scottish MPs returned to Westminster were SNP.....and SNP didn't get 81% of the vote. They actually had 45% of the vote.
Maybe the English need to shout about that a bit, see if it changes minds on PR.
