It's an old political saw that you can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the some all of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. The present lot are getting close to being unable to fool any of the people any of the time- except for the fools. I see this as a reason for optimism.
Yes, I guess we knew it was coming but, desperate as all such villains are, he finally gave his "enemies within" speech last night. Good old Rish!. It quite pissed off the Radio 4 news people as they had been trailling this vital message to the nation all through the programme without knowing what he was actually going to say. There was a definite sense of, 'was that it?', with an underlying soupçon of FFS.
Doing it in the dark like that was also ultra weird/sinister/bizarre/contradictory/rambling; i.e. a completely trumpian, very hitlery vibe.
