I love a good period drama but have yet to see any downton. Just started on the handmaids tale.
The hand maids tale is, er, interesting. Probably not what I would class as a period drama…. I’ve actually just finished listening the second book today.

Same here. I'm on season 4 and still gripped.

At a school I used to work at, one of the pupils was the son of the chap who plays Thomas Barrow. Always odd seeing a celeb in a casual manner just dropping his kid off. Would get the mums swooning quite a bit!

Sorry, I know it's not a period drama. It's something my wife wants to watch as she hates what I like. I don't mind it so far.

Nothing to apologise for. I just didn’t want you thinking you might be getting some Mr Darcy-esque pond scenes.

It's a good show. Seems to have been a long time since the last season. Filmed in Ontario with some good Toronto locations.

We’ve got a trial of Apple TV going. No idea why though.

We just watched hijack - quite liked it and was the sort of programme I would have just binge watched the whole series.

The sisters show is good, don’t remember what it is called - set in Ireland.

Try Silo while you’ve got the trial, it’s good.

Haven’t started Hijack yet. There were some people in the Indian the other night discussing it loudly and giving the plot away, I was desperately trying not to listen.

Hate it when that happens - you should have told them you haven’t watched it yet!

I‘d like that too. I’m probably going to have to watch the first one again to be honest.
Bloody Amazon cancelled the second series of Peripheral, blaming the Hollywood strikes.

However, I also read a while ago that streaming services are ditching much of their content - Westworld for an example among many others. Reason being that the series appear as very valuable assets on their books and represent a tax burden.

Tax burden? What, in case they ever have to pay any??

We've been watching Inside No. 9, it's a sort of horror comedy anthology by the guys who made The League of Gentlemen. Some episodes are better than others but it's always interesting and enjoyable.

Just about to embark on a binge of season 2 of Foundation. The story for season 1 is total piffle, but it is soooo good to look at.

I watched Onoda,10,000 Nights In the Jungle on the Chanel 4 app the other night.
I was 9 at the time this 2nd world war Japanese solider eventually gave himself up. Ive always found it a fascinating story so it was nice coming across the film by chance.
IMHO pretty well done.
